* Repost* @jasmine_sade Thanks for sharing.🤗 This is so true. This time of the year has been hard for me for years. My father passed away after Christmas and my grandfather after New Years .This year in particular has also been an emotionally draining season with a major transition, heartbreaking revelations, and some close loses. I'm reminded that in prayer that 2017 was going to be that of removal, rebuilding, and restoring. I'm reminded simply to just breathe, trust in my faith, and focus on what I can control to get through this period. Mental health is extremely important, and we should have the courage to share about it more. It's just as important as the glossy family pics and cute selfies. Depression is real. It's a daily battle for so many, but it happens more especially during the holidays.Yeah, you may be stronger than you look, but you don't have to br strong alone. You don't have to pretend or put a super cape on in deflecting that something doesn't exist.Reach out for help if you need to. Check on a friend or loved one that you know God has been nudging at your heart to reach out to.If feeling emotionally drained or exhausted it is ok to unapologetically pull back, take a social media fast, remove yourself from unhealthy/toxic situations, rest, regroup, and reorganize your social media connections. Take care of yourself inside out, and I know I will be doing the same.
