YET ANOTHER PB <3 When you get into the gym thinking 'this sesh is going to suck, I might just puke' because you're not feeling well, but then you just get on with your sets. Did 4x122,5kgs, 4x125kgs, then 3x127,5kgs and 3x130kgs, and I was about to call it a day then. At that point, the guy who's standing behind me in this video told me to just take 135kgs for a spin, my 1RM, and triple it. I really wasn't feeling it, but he offered to spot me and I went into the set thinking 'well I can at least do a single, and I'll just take it from there'. Surprisingly, I got all three reps in. My 1RM is now my 3RM, so I really don't know what my current 1RM is but it must be higher than this.
Disclaimer: they're not pretty squats. I'm fully aware of my squatmornings, and I've been working hard to improve. It's not a matter of pushing my knees forward, it's not a matter of pushing my back backwards, trust me, I've tried. It's an ongoing process, and while literally squatting at 100% I'm content with how these look for now, even though I'll of course strive to do them with better form next time. For now it's time to enjoy my food and enjoy that happy smile on my face for the rest of the night, or listen to some dope raps made by Dutch powerlifters ;) ___
Side note: it's weird how I'm really just my own worst enemy. I keep doubting myself and it's silly how I was about to quit squats after doing 3x130kgs, only to have someone convince me to up it with 5kgs. Him telling me he wasn't doubting me for a second did the trick and I'm starting to see how I'm sabotaging myself during competitions in the same way, thinking 'nah I probably won't have this' as I'm walking up to the bar.
