Jamie, aged 11, 13, 15 and 17.
His relationship with the Darragh changes dramatically over the years. At first, he didn't know what to make of the murderous creature. He was scared, confused. But once he realised they were more than a killer tree, an incredible bond sprouted between them.
But it only lasted so long. Jamie grew self aware and paranoid about being tossed aside, as he was as a child. He came to terms that this friendship was doing no one good, and anyone who even looked at him the wrong way felt the wrath of his protector. He'd only really grown close to the monster because the monster couldn't abandon him.
The Darragh went too far, however, when it later took the life of his second father, David. Jamie couldn't bare with that loss, as David was a selfless man. Though the relationship of the small family was rough and barely existent, it had gotten better. Jamie was becoming more open to the man. But it was far too late.
Jamie turned away the Darragh after that, breaking their binding contract.
The Jamie I usually draw is between the second and third stage. But I might draw more of the other two stages too.
I'm not really happy with the drawing in the last panel, to be honest. But there you go.
