I haven't been able to workout for a while due to the flu I suffered earlier this week. Finally when I'm feeling better, I decided to start easy with my favourite lift. 1RM stays still at 185kg but it was still fun.

i did so many deadlifts today. wow. 185x4x5 followed by emom 165x3 for 6 minutes and then 140x3x7 deficits. then chins, rows, bulgarian split squats, and ab wheel roll outs.

How To Make An Effective Bodypart Split by @Bachperformance

Body part splits get a bad rap when in reality they can be great for building muscle. The problem in most cases is poor design, exercise selection, NO heavy lifting or balance. 
In short, most lifters aren’t ready for the typical splits you see and end up focusing on  too many high rep pump sets and advanced methods before they’re ready. 
When you focus on body part splits with sound program design you can make great progress. You’ll end up training muscle groups 2+ times per week. 
Take your shoulders as an example. If your workout program is as follows:
👉Monday: Chest (shoulders get trained)
👉Tuesday:Legs (you could argue working in a stabilizing roll)
👉Wednesday: Shoulders (shoulders get trained)
👉Thursday: Back (rear delts are trained)
👉Friday: Arms (if you have any pressing, your shoulders get trained)

Your shoulders get trained as many as every single day, even though they’re the primary focus only on Wednesday. 
Pick one heavy lift to train for strength. 
Pick 2+ compound exercises per muscle group.
Track your workouts and get stronger week to week, month to month. 
Train consistently. No program works if you skip workouts…especially legs.

Deadlifts from last night. I worked up to 715lbs and dropped it at the top. When I jerked the bar it hopped way over to the right and I was misaligned when I pulled it. Still mad I dropped it but i’m pretty sure my CNS is donezo. Pulled 605x5, 515x10, and 425x15 afterwards for my cardio. So all week I’ve been hiding away, unfortunately my hair went a bit pete tong with the purple and it got bleached bathed and left me with green hair 🙈😭
It’s been a tough week dealing with the mistake, people making judgements it’s my own fault for going purple. Tbh I don’t care now, these things happen 🤷🏼‍♀️ I refuse to be normal, we all live and learn. A new colour coming soon for my bday. #dontgiveadamn #rockingit #noblondeforme 💚

HOW TO GET BIG NOW

There's ONE THING you need to do that will guarantee muscle growth, and it's getting stronger in the 6-10 rep range.

For example, if you want to build your chest, and your max bench press is 135lbs for 6 reps, then your number 1 goal should be to add 100lbs to your bench press. Doing so will build a bigger chest. I promise.

The same goals for any other body part. Have skinny legs? Add 100lbs to your Bulgarian Split Squat. Does your back suck? Add 100lbs to your chinup. Crappy shoulders? Add 100lbs to your overhead press. I think you can see my point.

Take your time and the strength will come. For example, if you can currently bench 135lbs for 3 sets of 6 reps, then your next workout needs to be 135lbs for 7,6,6. The workout after that needs to be 135lbs for 7,7,6. Keep going until you can do 135lbs for 3 sets of 10 reps, then add weight and keep going.

As I sit here, wondering, I think about the time I fell in love with weightlifting. It was at my first 225lb squat... something I NEVER thought I’d be able to do. && I sit here ... as a coward, saying no one cares about my posts.

So #benchpress was up first on day 2 of #deadcember which I worked up to a 92.5kg double for 2 sets. Then worked up to these 27.5kg incline DB presses (excuse the appearance of the belly from.under the jumper 😂). #deadlift #blockpulls were supposed to be from 4

Still worked up.to 135kg for 3 singles. These were actually harder than I thought. Lower back looks good to begin with but goes out of shape once the pull starts. Just another thing to work on 🤣. The first video is from when I was able to deadlift 765lbs (347.6kg) for the first time: the second video was me deadlifting 355kg (781lbs) for 4 repetitions about 2 years later.

That’s 730 days of sticking to the same simple program and continually tinkering with my technique. General rule of thumb: no program will work if you only stick to it for a week. Here’s the kicker: if you enjoy the program, just about any will succeed in eliciting results.

So quit debating, choose a program, start working, and stick to what you enjoy: chances are it’ll probably turn out better than you expected.
