Kate changed out into casual blue and white striped top, skinny jeans and Superga sneakers for a boat race against her husband in Heidelberg.
Before the race she had jokingly told her crew, "No pressure, but I do want to beat my husband." She was given a huge advantage over William after an Olympic gold medalist, Filip Adamski, was chosen as her stroke. The rest of both crews were made up of local amateur crews from Cambridge and Heidelberg. William insisted it was "fine" when told he was up against an Olympic Champion, but he admitted to his wife, "This could be a challenge"
Will and Kate were both at the helm of their respective boats, attempting to lead their teams to victory across the River Neckar. In the end, it was William’s team that took the number one spot.
After the race they were both awarded with matching medals. William donned an apron and took up a wooden mallet to open a beer barrel to celebrate.
